Tivoli Bar Stool Review
The stylish Tivoli Bar Stool was released in 2009 to a fairly low key fanfare. Admittedly, bar stools are not something we read about in “The Sun” and only those more discerning of us who perhaps read Home Interiors or Interior Decorator may have heard of this stool when it first hit our shelves in late 2009.
It was initially an exclusive stool available only in a small number of key retailers but as volumes and interest increased in the Tivoli, the distribution channels widened and prices came down.
We’ve set one up in our offices for review purposes, ordered directly from John Lewis. The box arrived within 48 hours and after hurrying ourselves away unpacking it, were pleasantly surprised to find it needed very little assembly. Once out of the box and all plastics removed, we made sure to check all fixings for sturdinness (including the gas lever) before finally setting it aside our ‘test bar’.
I have to say at this juncture that the design is as stylish and slick in real life as it is in the pictures and the Tivoli bar stool looked awesome next to our breakfast bar in the kitchen. The chrome fixings were gleaming and the chocolate sapa leather seat really set the chrome fittings off and made us feel comfortable knowing that guests would be thoroughly impressed with this fine piece of furniture.
The bar stool swivelled on a very smooth axis and the gas lever worked perfectly which was a pleasant surprise as we oftentimes find levers a bit sloppy to use but this one was perfect. The chrome base was proportioned perfectly to fit into the style of the stool and all in all, it is a really nice, stylish looking piece of modern furniture.
If you have shades of chocolate brown in your modern kitchen and perhaps some chrome plated taps and fittings, then this bar stool will really give you some extra flair. We weren’t overly joyed at the price when we ordered but after seeing it in the flesh we all felt that at under £99, the Tivoli was a good buy.
